Pipework Points
There may be an instance that you encounter a plastic fitting, featuring a plastic thread and is then fitted to copper pipework using a brass nut. The nut will definitely cut through the thread really quite easily, which in turn will make sure that a leak occurs. You can halt this by just tightening the nut by hand. Should the nut be difficult to turn you are doing something called threading the joint, which happens when the brass carves its own way through the plastic instead of following the thread. If this is the case, undo the nut, make sure that the pipework is going into the fitting straight and not at an angle, look for damage and then try again. If possible try and have the fitting itself quite loose so that you can be certain that the pipe and fitting are lined up correctly, this cannot be done with taps but is the best approach with an item such as a ball valve. An Earls Court Plumber uses plastic pipework frequently.Block:There is a tried and tested way of moving a blockage in pipes and that is to make use of a water vacuum cleaner which is set to blow and not suck. In order to carry this out you must firstly ensure that all overflows are covered and plugs are fully stopped. This action on a solvent welded pipe can work well, but its not a good idea for push-fit pipework as it can blow the joints of the end of the pipes. Be warned it is messy but effective. Earls Court Plumbers are a professional service that work on all plumbing appliances.Paint:Should there be paint on your copper pipes it is quite a hard job to remove, but removal is essential if you dont want your pipework to leak. Open a set of pump pliers and gently grip the pipe and begin turning the pliers back and forth and this usually causes the paint to flake off.
